Question

Explain the process of protein synthesis from processed m-RNA.

Open in App
Solution

From the processed mRNA translation is carried out step by step.
  • First codon(3 base pair combination) of mRNA strand attaches to a ribosome.
  • tRNA carrying a specific amino acid , approaches ribosome.
  • Enzyme helps tRNA anti-codon to pair with codon on mRNA.
  • tRNA remains with amino acid attached to it.
  • Next codon on mRNA slides along ribosome. Steps of adding the specific amino acid continue till the formation of the polypeptide chain.
