Solution
A fuse is an electrical safety device, that is connected to the circuit, to protect the electrical circuit and the devices in the circuit from the excess passage of current through it.
Fuse works on the principle of the heating effect of electric current.
A fuse consists of a narrow wire called fuse wire which gets heated and breaks off if any excess current flows through the circuit.
If the wire breaks it becomes an open circuit, no more current passes through the fuse.
Fuse help to prevent the damage caused due to excess flow of current in a circuit or electrical gadgets.
Nowadays automatic fuses are been used, they are called MCB ( miniature circuit breakers ).
