Dear student,
1. The Preamble to our constitution which serves as the introduction to our constitution summarizes its aims and objectives. It is the Preamble which provides for proper appreciation of our aims and goals as embodied in the constitution.
2. It incorporates the aims and aspirations of the society besides specifying the source of authority, system of government etc.
3. It is only in the light of preamble we can understand the various provisions of the constitution.
4. The preamble cannot be enforced in the court of law, it is only the constitution that can be enforced, since preamble only guides the articles of the constitution it doesn't state the articles.
5. Parliament make laws as per the provisions made in the constitution keeping in mind the overall philosophy of the constitution as mentioned in the Preamble. Any law that goes against the constitutional provisions is declared null or void or invalid by the Judiciary.
