Expansion of democracy is the logical next step to the foundational challenge of a nation. Once a nation is founded, rights and liberties need to be extended to the people. For this a democratic political system is required. This would of course invite resistance from the feudal and conservative forces of the country who had been in power till then. The challenge is to overcome such resistance successfully.
