Explain the steps involved in the manufacture of cement.

Cement is manufactured in two steps:
Formation of clinker.
Formation of cement from clinker.
Raw materials are first crushed and homogenised into the mixture into a rotary kiln.
There it is heated with

flame.
The kiln is kept at an inclined position so that the material reaches the other end and cools down.
Basic oxides are mixed to this mixture and clicker is obtained.
Gypsum and other additives are added to the clinker
All the constituents are ground leading to fine and homogenous powder. Cement is obtained.
