Solution
Sclera:
The transparent and bulging part of the eye is the sclera. It is derived from the neural crest cells during embryonic development.
It is the outermost layer of the eye, it is protective in function.
The anterior portion of the sclera forms the cornea, conjunctiva membrane covers the sclera.
It is made up of dense connective tissue.
Episclera is made up of loose connective tissue and is present under the conjunctiva, it is provided with unmyelinated nerve fibers and is also densely vascular.
Under the episclera, we will find the sclera proper which has a characteristic white color due to the presence of dense connective tissue.
The lamina fusca is the innermost layer of the sclera, which is rich in melanocytes.
