The technique of Functional Foremanship is an extension of division of work and specialization. In this technique the workers are divided into small groups. Taylor suggested to have four experts each in two sub departments of Planning and Production. The four experts in the planning department are: Route clerk, Instruction Clerk, Time and cost clerk and Discipline officer. The four experts in the production department are: Gang boss, Speed boss, Repair boss and Inspector.
