Solution

Interspecific hybridisation refers to crossing between male and female animals of two different species. This crossing is done to combine desirable features. For example, mule and hinny. Mule is formed from interspecific hybridisation between a male donkey and a female horse whereas hinny is formed from interspecific hybridisation between a female donkey and a male horse.
