Explain the term ‘pisciculture’.

Pisciculture:
The production of fish on a large scale by farming fish culture in fish nurseries(called hatcheries) is termed pisciculture.
Fish is an aquatic animals and they are rated as they are rich in proteins and iodine.
Special ponds are also developed as hatcheries.
These are called artificial or man-made hatcheries.
The hatcheries with circulating water ponds, lakes, and canals are called natural hatcheries.
The fish which breed in seawater is termed marine fish. Ex. Hisla, Bombay duck, Flying fish, Pomfret, Salmon, Tuna Cod etc
The fish which breed in water bodies like ponds, rivers and lakes is termed freshwater fish. Ex. Catla, Rohu, Singhara, Tirana, Malli etc
