Radical:

  • also called free radical, in chemistry, a molecule that contains at least one unpaired electron.

Simple radicals:

  • The radicals which contain only one atom are called simple radicals.

Example :

Chlorine (Cl-) , and oxide (O2-) are examples of simple radicals.
