Explain the terms: (a) Leaching (b) Roasting.

Roasting:- It is the process of heating of sulphide ores to high temperature in the presence of air. During roasting , sulphide gets converted to an oxide by releasing Sulphur dioxide as a gas.

Leaching:- A widely used extractive metallurgy technique which converts metals into soluble salts in aqueous media.
