(i) Covalent bond
(ii) Non-polar covalent bond.

Solution

(i) The bond formed by mutual sharing of electrons between two atoms, so that both the atoms attain the nearest noble gas configuration is called covalent bond.

(ii) When a covalent bond is formed between the atoms of same element, the shared pair of electrons are attracted equally by both the bonded atoms.

This happens because the two atoms belongs to same element and have exact same properties. Such a covalent bond is called non-polar covalent bond. e.g., Cl–Cl, H–H etc.
