Phenotype is the external appearance of any organism which is visible. The traits or the characters which can be observed externally is referred as phenotype. Smooth seeds is the phenotype.
Genotype is the genetic trait for a character. These are the genes or the alleles of the genes which are responsible for a particular character. SS or Ss is the genotype for smooth seeds.
