Question

explain the theory of evolution and the proof supporting it

Open in App
Solution

Evolution is a very slow process, so it is not possible for anyone to see this process on the basis of above examples, occurrence of evolution is well evident

several scientists have proposed their theories regarding the mechanism of evolution :

✔️ lamarck in 1809 proposed the theory of Inheritance of acquired character in his theory he proposed that all changes required by the organism during his lifetime are transferred to its progeny. in long course of time a new species is evolved.

✔️ Charles Darwin in 1859 proposed the theory of origin of species by natural selection he suggested that nature has a capacity to select the individuals who are better fitted according to natural conditions.only these individuals have a chance to survive in long course of time, these individuals become Complex in character and produce a new progeny.

the origin of new species depends upon several processes that work simultaneously mainly these include the interaction of genetic variations and natural selection environmental conditions :

Genetic variations : the variations, which can be passed on to the next generation are called heritable or genetic variations these variations provide the raw material for evolution these genetic variations come from

✔️ mutations
✔️gene recombination
✔️sexual reproduction
✔️isolation
✔️genetic drift.

Natural selection : organisms which are better adapted to their environment have chances of Survival other organisms which do not adapt themselves according to changing environment, get disappeared nature that selects only the fittest and keeps them chance to survive.

Role of isolation : isolation is the separation of a group of population from other members of the population by means of some barriers so that the members of separated group are unable to enter breed with the members of main population.the isolated group gradually becomes different from the members of the population and a new species is thus formed.
