Explain the type of soil most suitable for growing rice in our country.

Rice grows on a variety of soils like silts, loams and gravels. It can also tolerate alkaline as well as acid soils. However, clayey loam is well suited to the raising of this crop. River valley and delta areas are suitable for the cultivation of rice. New Alluvial soil have clayey loam texture, and therefore is best suited for rice cultivation.
