The types of forests found in India are
1. Tropical evergreen forests: They are found in the western ghats and the northeastern states where there is heavy rain.
2. Tropical Deciduous forests: They are found in north and central India where rainfall is moderate.
3. Tropical Thorn Forests which are found in the dry and semi dry regions of north-west India.
4. Montane forests which are found in the mountainous regions of the Himalayas and the high areas of the western ghats.
5. Littoral forests, also called mangrove forests, which are found in the coastal regions.
