Explain the various uses of water.
Water is stored in numerous locations worldwide, but it is not evenly distributed. It's considered a universal solvent. Sea, lake, rain, well, stream, borehole, and pond are all examples of water sources. It's utilised for everything from washing to drinking to generating power. The following are some examples of how water is used in many fields:
Domestic uses of water:
Domestic use accounts for 15% of total water consumption. Drinking, bathing, cooking, and washing dishes, clothes, fruits, and vegetables are all done using water.
Water use for agriculture:
Agriculture is the biggest water consumer. Irrigation consumes over 70% of all water. Gardening, farming, and fishing all require water. Water is required for plant growth. They consume water during the photosynthetic process. They need enough water, manure, sunlight, and oxygen to produce crops, fruits, flowers, and vegetables.
Industrial uses of water:
It is either used to create or cool the equipment used to create the product. Industrial water is used for washing, cooling, processing, transporting, diluting or fabricating a product. The maximum amount of water is used in the production of chemicals, paper and food.
Other applications include transportation, manufacturing, hydroelectric power, body waste removal, tourism, and recreation.
