Frederic Sorrieu was a French artist. In 1848, he prepared a series of four prints visualizing his dream of a world made up of ‘Democratic and Social Republics’. The main features of these prints were
1.Men and women march across the statue of Liberty to offer homage.
2. The statue holds a a torch of enlightenment and the Charter of the Rights of Man.
3. The remains of absolutist institutions can be seen broken in his print. This symbolised the end of conservatism and absolutism.
