Solution: Europe got introduced to Islamic culture during the years of crusades During this time several ideas were discussed and exchanged which saw some of the following influences to crop up in European architecture and art:

• Arabic music influenced Europe highly between the period of 500 to 1400 CE where religious and secular music were both growing.
• Carolingian style of architecture is an example of when Emperor Charlemagne infused ancient roman style with Byzantine style of architecture. This gave rise to features such as domes, arch shaped sports, huge pillars and mosaic floors.
• The platonic academy of Florence was also constructed by the French emperor Louis IX on his return from the crusades.
