Unit: A unit is the chosen standard of measurement of quantity, which has the same nature as the quantity. To express any physical quantity completely, we need the numerical value and the unit (u).
Physical quantity = nu
n = numerical value
u = unit
For example, if the mass of a body is 5 kg, 5 is the numerical value of the physical quantity (i.e., mass) and kg is the unit of the physical quantity.
Capacity: The amount of liquid that a vessel can hold is called the capacity of the vessel. For example, if a water tank on the terrace can contain 1,000 litres of water, it is the capacity of the water tank. Generally, we see the capacities of measuring jars are 2 l, 1 l or 500 ml.
