Explain which is a stronger acid between Phenol and Thiophenol.

Phenol is a stronger acid than Thiophenol. This is because in Phenol ( $C_{6} H_{5} - O H$ ), the $- O H$ group is present and in Thiophenol ( $C_{6} H_{5} - S H$ ) the $- S H$ group is present.
The $- I$ effect of $- O H$ group is stronger than $- S H$ group thus it can easily lose $H^{+}$ and thus act as a stronger acid.
