Question

Explain why a charged balloon is repelled by another charged balloon whereas an uncharged balloon is attracted to a charged balloon?

Open in App
Solution

A charged balloon is repelled by another charged balloon because both carry same type of charges. On the other hand, an uncharged balloon is attracted to a charged balloon as there is an attraction between a charged and an uncharged body. This is why repulsion is the surest test of charge.
