Solution

Root:

  1. The root is an underground part of the plant body that absorb water and mineral from the soil.
  2. There are spaces present in the soil that is filled with air through which gaseous exchange between root and soil takes place.
  3. When these spaces get filled with water, it might create bubbles that trap the air and restrict respiration in plants.
  4. So, that's why a terrestrial plant or land plants may die when remaining waterlogged for a long time.
