Explain why, a small volume of water in a kettle can fill a kitchen with steam.

Solution

Since steam is a gaseous form of water hence the molecules of steam move rapidly in all direction and thus fills the kitchen with steam. .A small volume of water heated in a kettle produces water vapour, which being a gas, spreads in the room due to weak inter-molecular forces of attraction between the vapour particles and very high kinetic energy.
