Explain why argon or nitrogen is filled in an electric bulb.
An electric bulb is filled with a small amount of gases such as argon or nitrogen.
This is because these gases are chemically inactive, prevent oxidation, and evaporation of the filament of the bulb. Hence, these gases extend the life of the filament of an electric bulb.
