Explain why, burning of wood is said to be an irreversible change, while boiling of water is said to be reversible change.

Wood cannot be obtained back after burning it. Hence burning of wood is a irreversible change.
The boiling of water is a reversible change as water vapours can be converted back to liquid water by cooling.
