Explain why carbon electrodes are used in electrolysis of water .

Dear student,
There are two reasons for using Carbon electrode in the electrolysis :

Due to resistance towards the corrosion being in water for a longer period of time.

less cost of the electrode. It is not very expensive like Platinum electrode etc
