Explain why, despite good rains, we are not able to meet the demand for water of all the people in our country.
Despite good rains, we are not able to meet the demands for water of all the people in our country. This is because our population is increasing at a fast pace. Also, a high yielding variety of crops require more water for irrigation, in urban areas people consume more water and the industrial waste and untreated sewage is discarded into rivers making it contaminated. All these things need a large amount of water; hence, causing water scarcity.
