Effervescence: It is defined as the formation of gas bubbles in a liquid by a chemical reaction.

Effervescence is seen when a bottle of soda water is opened:

  • (CO2)Carbon dioxide is present in soda water under pressure.
  • When the bottle is opened pressure is released.
  • Because of that CO2 will bubble out and effervescence will be seen.

Hence, effervescence is seen when a bottle of soda water is opened because it contains CO2 gas at high pressure and will bubble out.
