• As factory wastes are generally acidic in nature, they cause harm to aquatic life.
• As with the increase of acidic concentration in water aquatic plants and aquatic animals face difficulties in their life processes.
  For example, if the concentration of acid increases in the water there is a great possibility that nearly all the fish residing in the water body might die.

Hence, complete neutralization of factory waste by a suitable base is important before disposing of it in water bodies.
