Explain why gases have neither definite shape nor definite volume.

Solution
All matter is composed of very tiny particles.
In gases, these particles or molecules are very loosely packed,as the intermolecular force of attraction is very weak.
For this reason, gases have very large intermolecular spaces and the particles are free to flow around throughout the available space. They do not have any free surface and can be compressed or released into space of any size.
