  1. When we play musical instruments like guitar, then there is a string produced in the instrument.
  2. The vibration produced in the string of the instrument is forced vibration.
  3. Due to the presence of a large area in the instrument, the instrument sets a large volume of air into vibration.
  4. Due to the large value of vibration, the instrument produces a loud sound of the same frequency as that of the string.

Hence, for getting a louder sound the stringed musical instruments, like the guitar, are provided with a hollow box to increase the volume of air.
