  2. It requires additional latent heat for ice to melt into water.
  3. Ice from hailstorms takes absorbs this required latent heat from the surrounding atmosphere.
  4. In the process so much heat is absorbed from the surroundings and as a result, weather becomes very cold after a hailstorm.
