Dear Student, In order to show the deflection of needle we can arrange an apparatus as following - Take a beaker in which different liquids are poured. Now two ends of electric wire are dipped in the liquid which have a battery in series. A magnetic needle is placed near the wire. When you pour lemon juice, vinegar and tap water the needle shows deflection as the above stated liquids are present in ionic form. While in case of other liquids no deflection is observed. Regards
