Solution
The mean annual temperature range can be obtained by taking the difference between temperatures of the hottest and the coldest months of the year. In this case, one takes into account the mean temperatures of the required months. Hence, a range is obtained by the difference. For example: In India, the mean annual temperature range can be obtained by taking the difference between the mean temperatures of the hottest month - May/June and the mean temperature of the coldest month - January.
The mean annual temperature can be defined as the approximate average/mean of the maximum and minimum temperatures of the hottest and the coldest months of the year. So inadvertently mean annual temperature is the mean of four temperatures. For example: In India, the mean annual temperature can be obtained by taking the average of the minimum and the maximum temperatures of the months of January and June.
