The three different ways by which organisms overcome their stressful conditions are :
(i) Migration: The organisms temporarily move from the stressful environment to the more hospitable environment and may return back when the stress period is over. This phenomenon is known as migration. Examples: birds like goose, human beings residing in himalayas, etc.
(ii) Hibernation: It is a long inactive period in which the organisms reduce all of its metabolic activities and take a long sleep.It takes place in the winter. Examples: polar bear, etc.
(iii) Aestivation (Summer Sleep) : It takes place in summer and is commonly seen in animals that resides in hot and arid conditions. Examples: Frogs, snails, etc.
