Express the following algebraically if n represents the first number in each case.

Sum of three consecutive integers

Open in App
Solution

Find out the sum of three consecutive integers

Consecutive integers are those which have difference of 1 for example -2,-1,0,1,2.

If n represents the first integer then three consecutive integers are n,n+1,n+2

Now, the sum of three consecutive integers =n+(n+1)+(n+2)

Hence, the required expression of above statement algebraically is n+(n+1)+(n+2).
