Open in App
Solution

Let the present age of the father be x years and the present age of the son be y years.
Age of father after two years = (x + 2) years
Age of the son after two years = ( y + 2) years
According to the question, we have:
x + 2 = 2(y + 2)
⇒ x + 2 = 2y + 4
⇒ x - 2y = 4 - 2
∴ x - 2y = 2
