Express the mixed fraction as improper fraction:

A mixed fraction can be converted into an improper fraction by adopting the following procedure:

Step 1: Take the denominator of the mixed fraction and multiply it with the whole number of the mixed fraction.

Step 2: Add the numerator to the product obtained in Step 1 .

Step 3: Keeping the denominator fixed, take the sum obtained in Step 2 as the numerator of the resultant fraction, which gives the required improper fraction. The result of all these steps can be also summed up as:

(denominator×wholenumber)+numeratordenominator

Here, the given mixed fraction is 325 which can be converted into improper fraction using the following steps:

Step 1: Multiplying 5 and 3. We get, 5×3=15.

Step 2: Adding 2 to15. We obtain, 2+15=17.

Step 3: Taking 5 as the denominator and 17 as numerator, the required improper fraction is 175.

Therefore, the improper fraction for the mixed fraction 325 is 175.
