Solution

The correct option is D Collecting duct
Kidney is the excretory organ made of several millions of functional and structural units known as nephrons. Each nephron has the glomerulus and the renal tubule. Glomerulus is a tuft of capillaries formed by the afferent arteriole. While renal tubule is made up of Bowman’s capsule, proximal convoluted tubule (PCT), Henle’s loop, distal convoluted tubule (DCT) and collecting duct.

Glomerulus, PCT and DCT are located in the cortical region of the kidney.
Henle’s loop is present in the medulla region. Collecting duct is the segment which extends from cortex to medulla.
