Let the number be $n$.

First she adds $19$ to the number, $(n+19)$

and, then divide the sum by $5$ i.e, $\frac{n+19}{5}$, the result will be equal to $8$.

According to the question,

$\frac{n+19}{5}=8$

$\Rightarrow \frac{n+19}{5}\times 5=8\times 5$ [Multiplying both sides by $5$]

$\Rightarrow n+19=40$

$\Rightarrow n+19-19=40-19$ [Subtracting $19$ from both sides]

$\Rightarrow n=21$

Hence, Ibenhal thought the number $21$.
