Let $p (x) = 6 x^{2} + 5 x - 6$
Here we have to split middle term $5$ into two parts such that their sum is $5$ and product is $6 \times - 6 = - 36$
$9$ and $- 4$ are such numbers whose sum is $5$ and product is $- 36.$
$6 x^{2} + 5 x - 6 = 6 x^{2} + 9 x - 4 x - 6$
$= 3 x (2 x + 3) - 2 (2 x + 3) = (2 x + 3) (3 x - 2)$
