Given quadratic equation is $x^{2} - 4 x - 32$

It can be factorised by splitting the middle term as

$x^{2} - 4 x - 32 = x^{2} - 8 x + 4 x - 32$

$= x (x - 8) + 4 (x - 8)$

$= (x - 8) (x + 4)$

Thus factors are $x - 8, x + 4$ .
