We need to find two numbers whose product is (5×2)=10 and whose sum is -7

Let us first split the middle term - 7x as -5x -2x [because (-5x) × (-2x) =
10x2=(2x2)×5].
So, 2x27x+5=2x25x2x+5=x(2x5)1(2x5)=(2x5)(x1)

Now, 2x27x+5=0 can be rewritten as (2x - 5)(x - 1)= 0.
