Factorisation: 2 Marks
Division: 1 Mark
Substitution: 1 Mark

5x3+16x2+12x

=5x3+10x2+6x2+12x

=5x2(x+2)+6x(x+2)

=(5x2+6x)(x+2)

Dividing above expression by (x+2) gives 5x2+6x

x = 3

5x3+16x2+12x

=5(3)3+16(3)2+12(3)

=315
