(i) ${(5 x - \frac{1}{x})}^{2} + 4 (5 x - \frac{1}{x}) + 4$

$= {(5 x - \frac{1}{x})}^{2} + 2 \times (5 x - \frac{1}{x}) \times 2 + 2^{2}$

$= {(5 x - \frac{1}{x} + 2)}^{2}$ (1 mark)

(ii) $36 x^{2} - 12 x + 1 - 25 y^{2}$

$= {(6 x)}^{2} - 2 \times 6 x \times 1 + 1^{2} - {(5 y)}^{2}$

$= {(6 x - 1)}^{2} - {(5 y)}^{2}$

$= {(6 x - 1) - 5 y} {(6 x - 1) + 5 y}$

$= (6 x - 1 - 5 y) (6 x - 1 + 5 y)$

$= (6 x - 5 y - 1) (6 x + 5 y - 1)$ (1 mark)

(iii) $x^{4} + x^{2} + 1 = (x^{4} + 2 x^{2} + 1) - x^{2}$

$= {(x^{2} + 1)}^{2} - x^{2} = (x^{2} + 1 - x) (x^{2} + 1 + x)$
$= (x^{2} - x + 1) (x^{2} + x + 1)$ (1 mark)
