Diabetes insipidus is a disorder which occurs because of hyposecretion of ADH due to which there is less water reabsorption in kidneys. ADH (Anti diuretic hormone) or vasopressin is secreted from the posterior part of pituitary gland. This hormone increases reabsorption of water in kidneys and this results in decreased rate of urine production. Symptoms of diabetes insipidus include excessive urination and thirst.
