Solution

Dear Student

Na is sodium and has 11 protons which is equal to its atomic no.

Na in neutral and gaseous state has 11 electrons. When it loses an electron it form a cation Na+ which has 10 electrons. No. of proton remains the same in both cases, i.e. 11 and that shows it is the same element with different no. of electrons.
Thus, Na is symbolise neutral sodium element whereas Na+ symbolise positively charged sodium element.
