Apiculture is the scientific rearing of honeybees for the commercial production of honey and other bee products like beeswax.

Vermiculture refers to the scientific process of cultivating or rearing of earthworms to decompose organic wastes into a nutrient-rich material.

For culturing earthworms the best method used by farmers is mixing biodegradable wastes including the plant materials, dried leaves and cow dung. Earthworms consume the waste and produce vermicompost that is rich in nutrients and used as manure which helps in the growth of plants.
