Fenestra ovalis is also called as the oval window or fenestra vestibuli. The eardrum is called as the typanum which is present in the middle ear. The air-filled cavity inner to the eardrum is called the tympanic cavity. The region is spearated form the inner ear with the help of two membrane bound apertures. The upper aperture is oval and is called the fenestra ovalis and the lower is round and is called the fenestra rotunda. The three ossicle bones communicate laterally with the tympanic cavity by fenestra ovalis.
